You may know you want to play a new instrument, but you just aren’t sure which one.

After all, there are several different instruments to choose from, and all of them come with their list of pros and cons. Most people have a difficult time deciding if they want to start learning the piano or the guitar. In this article, I’ll be explaining why learning the guitar is a better choice than the piano.

First off, let’s talk about space. Pianos typically take up an entire portion of a room and can be difficult to move out of the way if you decide you don’t want it in the room anymore. With a guitar, you can simply put it in its case and put it in your closet when you aren’t playing.

Then there’s the issue of transportation. Let’s say that after you build your skills as a musician, you decide to join a band. It’s going to be difficult to pick up your piano from your house to practice, isn’t it?

With a guitar, you just have to put it in it’s case and you can bring it with you wherever you want.

Learning guitar is alsoĀ better because you can make more versatile sounds. Just think of all the styles of music out there that involve a guitar- punk rock, metal, ska, jazz, classical, bluegrass, blues, country, etc.

You would have a wider range of genres to jump to and from, if that’s of any importance to you.

And finally, there are some terrific resources out there that can help get you started on learning the basics of the guitar TODAY if you’re open to it. You can sign up for Elmore Music online, which is a useful course online that teaches you everything you need to know if you’re a beginning guitar player.
